Fluoro-gypsum is the industrial waste residue after the production of hydrofluoric acid from fluorite and concentrated sulfuric acid. For every 1 ton of hydrofluoric acid, 3.6 tons of anhydrous fluoro-gypsum are generated. The production reaction equation is as follows:H2SO4+CaF2 → 2HF↑ +CaSO4 

When the fluorine gypsum is discharged from the reactor, the material temperature is 180 ~ 230℃, the gas temperature is 800 ~ 1000℃, the gypsum is anhydrous calcium sulfate, which belongs to ⅡCaSO4. Fluoropresso contains residual fluorite and sulfuric acid when it is just discharged from the kiln, and the content of fluorine and sulfuric acid in the leaching solution is relatively high, which exceeds the limit value of "Hazardous waste Identification Standard", and the environmental protection department requires that it shall not be stacked on the ground. For this reason, most of the hydrogen fluoride enterprises in China use the lime neutralization method, to add the fresh gypsum lime powder neutralization to PH=7 or so, emissions. The lime added neutralizes the sulfuric acid to form calcium sulfate. The purity of the discharged fluoro-gypsum can reach 80% ~ 90%.
