Safety Measures For Calcium Sulfate

Health hazard

Calcium and sulfate are normal components of the human body, and calcium sulfate has a low solubility and is difficult to absorb in the digestive tract. So calcium sulfate is almost non-toxic. ADI does not make special provisions (FAO/WHO, 1994).

Hazard prevention

Mixed reaction of calcium sulfate and diazomethane exothermic, explosion; mixed with phosphide to spontaneous combustion at high temperature; thermal decomposition emits toxic sulfur oxide smoke, a kind of pollution dust. During storage and transportation, the warehouse must be kept at low temperature, ventilated and dry.
